Securing digital operations during incidents

Production: Digi- ja väestötietovirasto and eOppiva

Course description

The society’s dependence on technology increases all the time. Each organisation must identify its critical services and the associated systems and ensure that the organisation has a plan for managing incidents and continuity of operations in exceptional situations.

Continuity management and incident management overlap and support each other. Continuity management helps organisations and the society cope with threats and disruptions that affect the digital environment. At the same time, it strengthens the trust of citizens, customers and other stakeholders in the operation of the organisation.

An incident can be caused, for example, by a natural phenomenon, cyberattack, pandemic, power failure and human error. This training focuses on the impacts of incidents, how to prepare for them and how to restore digital operations back to normal.

The training discusses the continuity of the operations and incident management from the perspective of a public administration organisation. However, the subject matter of this training can also be utilised in other organisations. The training is intended for directors of organisations, digital security experts and persons responsible for services and processes.

The experts in this training are Kimmo Rousku, Juha Kirves and Erja Kinnunen.
