Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

We process your personal data  to provide you with a participation certificate for eOppiva’s open courses.

If you create a user account, you will have your own profile where achievements from open courses are stored. You may also customize your favorites and interests. This helps us recommend content tailored to your preferences.

We only process your personal data with your consent.

Content of the Register

The register contains the information provided by you:

  • name
  • email address
  • organization
  • areas of interest

as well as information provided by the system:

  • completed courses
  • completion date

The register is compiled from the information you provide on the www.eoppiva.fi website.

Regular Disclosures of Data

We do not disclose personal data to third parties.

Retention of Data

We regularly delete temporary data (email address for sending the certificate) every 2 months or anonymize them in a way that individual identification is no longer possible.

If you have created an account , we will retain your data in accordance with applicable law and only for as long as necessary. You can view, edit, and delete your personal data at any time. We remove outdated and incorrect information.

Transfer of Data Outside the EU or EEA

The register data is not transferred outside the EU or EEA.

Data Protection

Personal data is kept confidential. The data controller and its IT partners’ network and hardware are protected by a firewall and adequate technical data protection solutions. The register data is located on servers located in Finland. The data stored in the register is securely protected, and only authorized employees of HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management have access to it. The use of information systems is monitored, and access to systems is restricted. Users are identified by username and password.

Other Rights of the Data Subject

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data and exercise this right at reasonable intervals.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data. You have the right to have your personal data deleted when it is no longer needed for the purpose for which the data was collected or the processing is otherwise not in accordance with the provisions of the data protection regulation.
  • Request restriction of processing, such as transferring data to another processing system, preventing users from accessing certain personal data, or temporarily removing published data from websites.
  • Object to direct marketing.
